How does social norms and a desire to gain social status affect our terrain choices in the backcountry. In this study, we investigated how backcountry riders perceive social status in the backcountry, and how this, in turn affect our terrain chocies. The White Heat Project

White Heat is research collaboration between researchers at UiT - The Arctic University of Norway, Montana State University, and Umeå University. The aim of the White Heat project is to generate new knowledge on mechanisms behind risk-taking behavior in avalanche terrain.
